Are you allowing your circumstances to dictate your reactions? If so, remember that one of the best ways to improve your circumstances is to improve yourself. A recommended area for improvement might be to just stop complaining. All too often we fall into the trap thinking that complaining is the same as correcting. When we do this, our complaints are little more than wasted energy… energy that might be better spent on fixing the issue. Complaining is a gateway that quenches our receptivity to the Spirit. When you feel like complaining, do this instead: encourage yourself; help someone else; be patient; don’t worry about getting even; rejoice in the Lord; begin to pray without ceasing. To him who has, more shall be given. Consistently complaining only gives you more to complain about.
